It all starts with the ground
beneath our feet
Many of my works begin with direct impressions taken from organic textures found in the landscape. A thrown form will normally, but not always, becoume the base to which more organic shapes are added and taken away. These resultant surfaces guide each piece, capturing subtle patterns and irregularities that reflect the character of nature itself.
Working with stoneware clay, I explore how material, texture, and colour and form can evoke a sense of place. Each form becomes a quiet study of landscape — shaped by time, weather, and touch.
Ceramic vessels inspired by the natural world
From my home studio in the Surrey hills in the south of England.
I create one-off ceramic pieces and small batch functional ware inspired by the quiet beauty of the natural world. My work grows from a lifelong love of art and making — an ongoing exploration of textures, tones, and forms that reflect the landscapes around us. Each piece is shaped by materials that hold their own story, drawn from the earth itself, and crafted to capture a feeling of place. The result is art that invites a gentle connection to nature — something grounding and beautiful to keep close .
